Week 10 home learning

Hello Year 3,

I hope you and your families are well. It was wonderful to speak to most of you on the phone over the past week and find out about all the interesting home learning you have been doing and what you have been up to. 😃

This week in English, you will continue to find out about the key events in the life of artist William Morris. You will build on what you learnt last week to now be able to use adverbs to express place in your writing. Do you remember all the fantastic illustrations in all the Roald Dahl books we have read? Well this week you are going to write a biography about Quentin Blake, the artist who drew all those amazing pictures and many more!

In maths this week you will be learning about horizontal and vertical lines and identifying them in 2D shapes. You will also be learning about perpendicular and parallel lines to investigate the lines on different flags of counties around the world.

In science you will continue to learn about light, by experimenting with bubbles and how they spilt the white light. In geography you will explore the capital cities of Athens and London and identify similarities and differences. In history you are going to become archaeologists and discover 3 sites from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.

Keep up the hard work, stay safe.

Mr Holley 😊
