Head boy and Head girl

Each September, members of Year 6 are invited to stand as candidates for an election campaign to become the Head boy and Head girl of Riverside for the year. The candidates receive support on how to lead a fair, honest and persuasive campaign to have as many votes as possible on election day. The child present their speeches to the whole school and the candidates with the most votes will be elected as the Head boy, Head girl and Deputy head boy and girl for the year.

The process is managed to ensure a fair, but sensitive approach to the elections, teaching children important life skills about competing, speaking and listening.

Once elected the children take the role as ambassadors for our school very seriously. They pride themselves on being role models for the other children and enjoy sharing Riverside with visitors when they come to visit our school.
